I knew we would have a wonderful Easter with friends and family. We would have beautiful pastel ribbons tied to chairs, brightly colored Easter eggs, an amazing brunch filled with homemade belgian waffles, quiche, lemon blueberry cake, scones, fruit, and marmalade.
We'd begin brunch with pear bellinis on the patio, move in for a glamorous buffet-style brunch, and then we would play a few games and relax. There was only one thing left to buy -- an Easter bunny centerpiece.
I looked everywhere -- every store I could think of --and no one had the right bunny! He needed to be regal, but not too tall, and he needed to have a personality that was serious yet looked like he had just been in Mr. McGregor's garden.
I became desperate and began looking on eBay. After almost giving up hope there he was! He was in Kentucky, and for only $32 he could be mine.
When he arrived, I wasn't disappointed (Although I do wish he was a little taller, but I am terrible with measurements and how could I be mad at him? After all, it wasn't his fault he was shorter than expected was it?). After pulling him out of the box and brushing him off, I placed him on the table and allowed him to enjoy his new home.
When Easter arrived everyone loved him and he definitely added to the atmostphere of our already wonderful brunch.
He will be going away in the closet today, but I am already looking forward to seeing him next year.
