One reason why I love planning, hosting, and attending events is because I love any excuse to dress-up. I just had a baby last month so as a lot of moms out there will understand, particularly in the early weeks after having a baby, you don't get a lot of opportunity to dress-up. Honestly, some days you don't even make it out of your pajamas.
Therefore, I was very excited to see a wedding invitation arrive the other day that required black tie attire. I love shopping for evening gowns - what girl wouldn't? But, as I am not making it out of the house very often these days, and since I am not sure what size I am, I decided to order a few dresses from Rent the Runway that will arrive a few days before the wedding. I wanted to mention the company because I've used them before with great success, and they let you have two different sizes as some designers might run smaller than others. I promise to check back with you after the wedding and let you know how the dresses work out.
My other tip, which a lot of you probably are already doing, is that I booked an appointment at Dry Bar so I can get my hair blown out. It's amazing how popular Dry Bar is, and I'm proud to say that I've been to the Dry Bar in three cities and counting: LA, NYC, and DC (and I'm all for more locations). A good blow out always makes for a good day.
